Does anyone have the answer as to how best to manage this scenario in SAP HCM (on premise)?
NOTE: I am specifically referring to Position management (not employee FTE)
Imagine I have 2 types of positions in my organisation - say office worker and factory worker.
An office worker has to work 160hrs pcm and the factory worker has to do 170hrs pcm.
I want to define 4 positions:
Position 1 - Office Worker - expected to hold 1 FTE doing 160hrs work pcm
Position 2 - Office Worker - expected to hold a part time worker at 0.5 FTE doing 80hrs work pcm
Position 3 - Factory Worker - expected to hold 1 FTE doing 170hrs work pcm
Position 4 - Factory Worker - expected to hold a part time worker at 0.5 FTE doing 85hrs work pcm
So I would like to hold all this in SAP HCM, so I could report that across these 4 positions there should be 4 employees amounting to 3 FTE (1+0.5+1+0.5) positions who should do 495hrs (160+80+170+85) work pcm between them.
I know that you can hold work schedule for a position (infotype HRP1011) but by entering hours it uses a single configuration value for the monthly FTE hours (which is used in the FTE % calculation). So, that means I can either enter the correct hours (but some FTE % will be wrong) OR enter specific values in the hours field to get the FTE I want for that position (even though the hours might not actually be the hours for that position).
How would you recommend I hold the exact position hours and FTE in SAP HCM so I can accurately report on both?
