How to copy production BOM to cost BOM

I am new to the process of setting up production and costing BOMs in SAP.  I have 2 questions.  Is there any publicly available information out there which goes through the process of setting up BOMs in terms of both production and costing?  I am not very comfortable with SAP and would prefer to start at the most inexperienced level.

Secondly, how can I copy the production BOM to the cost BOM?  I'm in the process of creating a new SKU.
